Tulsa Rowing Club's 19th annual sprint rowing event, the Route 66 Regatta, will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010. The 1000-meter sprint races on the Arkansas River will begin south of the 21st Street Bridge and finish near the River West Festival Park. The Tulsa Rowing Club Boathouse is located at 715 West 21st Street, on the West Bank of the Arkansas River.
This is a 1000 meter Sprint race on a straight course on the Arkansas River. Spectators on the eastern and western banks of the river will see high school, masters, and collegiate club crews race in a full day of rowing beginning at 7 a.m. and running until 4 p.m. Crews from numerous states including Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas will compete. Spectators will see all classifications of boats racing, from the recreational single rower to the fast eight person sweep rowing shell.
