Route 66 Regatta

Route 66 Regatta Moves Up the Mother Road to the Verdigris River For 2012

 Same Race, New River

The Tulsa Rowing Club will again be hosting the spring Route 66 Regatta rowing competition, but this year at a new location. Due to continued low water levels on the Arkansas River (where the competition has been held for 20 years), the April 28 event will be held on the nearby Verdigris River in Catoosa. Although the rowers will be racing along a new course, a Route 66 bridge will again serve as the historic finish line.

Tulsa Rowing Club is excited to partner with the City of Catoosa and The University of Tulsa for this event. The race is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2012 and will take place at Rogers Point Park in Catoosa, scenic home of The University of Tulsa Women’s Rowing team. The change in venue also presents the opportunity to lengthen the course from 1,000 meters to 1,250 meters.
